Remember that Aloha Chore bot that was all over the internet? Recently Chelsea Finn, a Stanford professor of computer science and Electrical Engineering who is the project's mentor, announced at X that she is officially co-founding the company with several other Top Berkeley academics and Google Deepmind scientists, all-out effort to build intelligent brains for robots.

The new company is called Physical Intelligence, or Pi for short. The goal is to develop“Software that adds advanced intelligence to a variety of mechanical devices,” eventually building a universal AI model that can control any robot to perform any task. Chelsea Finn explains that this is actually very challenging and requires integrating the robot's cross-platform strategy, migrating learning from visual and linguistic models, and learning flexible skills through imitation.
