The oracle bone inscription“Namely” JI character writes the method and the explanation
“即”字在甲骨文中，就像是一个人跪坐在装满食物的器皿前，正准备用餐的样子。所以，它的本义就是靠近食物，准备就餐。
“色即是空”揭示了一种中道观念，既不是彻底的断灭见（认为一切皆空无，否认因果关系），也不是顽固的常见（认为有独立、永恒的实体存在）。它旨在避免这两种极端，教导人们正确看待世界和人生。
The word“Namely” in oracle bone inscription is like a person kneeling in front of a container full of food and preparing to eat. Therefore, its original meaning is close to food, ready to eat. “Color is emptiness” reveals a kind of middle way idea, which is neither a complete disavowal (that everything is empty and denies causality) nor a stubborn common (that there is an independent and eternal entity) . It aims to avoid these two extremes and to teach people to view the world and life in the right way.
